Still rough but here's Jay a star wars oc I'm working on! They are orignally for an au with a few friends but I like them to much to limit them to just that. They are a historian after the fall of the empire trying to document and research more about the clone wars since a lot of the information was lost when the empire took over.

Aresyl Kallig's tattoo lore

wrist tattoos- These were the first tattoos Aresyl ever got. After officially becoming Sith, Aresyl was worried that she would become like the monsters that oppressed her when she was in the bondage of slavery. Hoping it would help her remember who she is and where she came from, she decided to get band tattoos around her wrist, to remind her of the shackles she was once in.

Soon after she got the band tattoos, she added the symbol of her family over the scar where her slave tracking chip once was. The symbol also means "to rise above"

left upper arm tattoo- After joining the Dark Council, Aresyl added another set of band tattoos, to solidify to herself that she wouldn't get lost in the power and could remember who she was. While her wrist bands symbolized her past, the new set of bands represent the people who weren't lucky enough to escape their shackles. She wanted to remember to use her power as a Dark Lord to help the disadvantaged in any way she could.

left forearm tattoo- Her most recent tattoo was added after she became commander of the alliance. The design of the band is reminiscent of the crowns she used to wear to cover her slave brands. Now that she was no longer part of the Empire, she didn't want to hide who she was anymore. The tattoo represented the end of that era and served as a reminder to Aresyl that she could choose to do what she wanted, without the restrictions of the Empire.

I'm coming to terms with having a very sketchy art style. I'm always told it's something to avoid, but I like the messy quality. It's like bring beauty out of chaos or something.

It looks better in the program, and it got kind of lost in translation on the way to Tumblr rip

I decided to name Aresyl and Theron's otp/fic name after Time After Time by Cyndi Lauper because I think it's such a beautifully fitting song!

I like how Time After Time portrays a love that's constant despite uncertainty.

I feel like a key part of their story is that their love is constant, and they always find a way back to each other even when it seems like the universe is ripping them apart. There were long periods of time where they're relationship seemed impossible, but they always met each other at the end of the uncertainty. Their love persisted and was proven time after time.

This first verse reminds me of the nights Aresyl/Theron spend thinking of each other during the periods they were separated:

The second verse especially feels perfect to me, because it reminds me of the dream Theron describes before the proposal, where he calls out to the MC who's walking away, but he can't catch up to them no matter how fast he runs.

Sometimes you picture me, I'm walkin' too far ahead You're callin' to me, I can't hear what you've said Then you say, "Go slow", I fall behind The second hand unwinds

And then of course the chorus of course speaks for itself:

Introducing- Katynn Nys

Since she was growing up in the Chiss Ascendency, Arian'katy'enaad felt a restless need to get away. She never got along with her family or community, other than her older sister Arian'row'enaad who left the family to serve the empire. Inspired by her sister, she changed her name to Katynn Nys and started her education in preparation to become an agent for Imperial Intelligence.

Katynn never fit in with her role in the Ascendency, but she always knew she was good lying and getting what she wanted from people. Always shifting shapes, she often lost track of who she really was and what she wanted for herself.

It wasn't until she left the Empire, removed herself from all records, and removed herself from the equations entirely, that Katynn was able to truly live for herself.

From there Katynn and the crew she'd picked up along the way were able to make the difference they wanted in the galaxy and fight for more than the Empire vs Republic war.
