Strolling down the empty streets at night after floundering on alcohol, causing chaos through the bar was a red head boy. He walked silently through the streets, but then, he saw a light illuminating from a narrow alley way. ... A Baby?! Wait... Three babies?!

This is a fun read! I love seeing more OG!Cale love, I love seeing the Trio of KRS, LSH, and CJS having a new life together and deciding that no one get's to fuck with their new parent.

Cute moments of seeing Cales walls being torn down cuz of the babies, along with some angst of Cale trying to be a new parent, making mistakes and really wondering if he was the best choice.

Third Time's the Charm

Thoughts:

Commander Choi Han along with his battle-worn allies is one month away from facing off against what seems to be the most powerful of the summoned demonic beasts in Puzzle City. They hope this will change the tide of their war against the White Star that has already dragged on for twenty years. Cale Henituse, formerly Kim Rok Soo, has had enough of being transmigrated against his will. Does the God of Death really not have any other methods of solving problems? Whatever, at least his kids and his self-declared knight are here to help him out.

I think, personally, this is one of the top "TCF goes to TBOAH" fics in terms of characterization. The author really nailed Cale's internal thoughts, the way he "rationalizes" his nice gestures as trying to stop anything annoying happenings, or saying it's for his own benefits, the fact he doesn't take to heart a specific scene of them pushing too much cuz he knows how desperate they are, it's just all really well done!

Cale isn't the only one portrayed really well! TBOAH!Choi Han isn't some angsty man who's a complete dick who lashes out and thinks with his firsts first. He's still Choi Han at his core, a kind person who's had his family taken away a second time so he copes by fiercely protecting his new family and being paranoid.

While he is wary of this new Cale and his counterpart, and does attack them, he doesn't try mauling their throats out 24/7 and actually understands why that Choi Han is different then he is. How at their core they would do anything for their family, and doesn't hold it against him when TCF!Choi Han is being angry towards them for upsetting Cale. (even though Cale would never call it that lol)

I also enjoy how they handle the Ancient Powers in this world and who Cale chooses to give them too. They all have a connection with their new power, mirroring their past experiences and how they choose to protect their loved ones.

It's just really fucking solid and I highly recommend a read!!

Together, they have three kids, two houses, and an average life expectancy of four years. Eruhaben had never imagined himself part of such a warm family, but he'd been drawn in so easily. Cale just has that effect on people, he supposes. Or Eruhaben and Cale are dying together, but before that, they're trying their best to live what little life they have left.

Fuckkkk this fic gutted me in all of the best ways. It's a fanfic dealing with terminal illness, but not in a way I've really read anywhere else.

It's less off a fic where you're crying at everything, where all you can feel is the clock ticking and just wondering when the chime is gonna strike. It's more like... a celebration of what they have.

Moment's between the two and the children. Seeing them both acknowledge they have so little time with each-other and their family yet still choosing to keep it together, and shit, when it is time to leave?

It's as heartbreaking as you can imagine. I understand why Cale choose to do what he did with the kids, but the scene with Ohn clutching the notebook that explained everything made me SOB

It's just amazingly written with a wonderful pacing that allows you to glimpse into the life they lived and what happens afterwards.

The last paragraph was a balm to my soul.

I love watching him have to come to terms with Kaitos inability to leave Shinichi alone, through climbing through their window and dragging kidnapping him randomly. Life with living with Kudo Shinichi really isn't boring.

(I also just love reading anything with outsiders POV, it's one of my fave tropes!!)

Cale is a dragon, and no one bothered to tell him.

Cale fumbling around and not realizing he's a Dragon, let alone the Red Dragon, for the first few chapters is really funny.

I love how the author manages to follow the cannon story really well while having such a huge difference! Choi Han being spooked by how obviously (well, not to Cale haha) strong Cale is, and Rosalyn struggling between calling him "Esteemed Dragon-nim" or following Cale's wishes and just calling him by his name lol

I also love reading how you slowly see Cale become more and more draconic, and figuring out how exactly the Red Dragon even survived and became who he is now! (won't spoil anything but it's very cool and I neeeeeddddd the revelation to spill!!!!)

My favorite would have to be chapters: "Unfold Your Wings As You Fall (rewritten)" and "Of Jewels and Souls"! Would recommend reading both chapters of the old and rewritten ones, the differences are so stark but still very interesting to read!
