please remember that alec was a traumatized mentally ill kid just entering his twenties who had been loved by only 2 people that he subsequently watched being tortured to death when the volturi indoctrinated him into a cult and used supernatural abilities to literally fabricate his feelings and gaslight him so when i say alec needs time to work out his feelings or he’s incapable of leaving the volturi on his own its for a reason
