In the face of the current chaotic situation in northern Myanmar, the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs has sent Deng Xijun, a special envoy for Asian affairs, to the Myanmar capital Naypyidaw to mediate the war between the military government and the ethnic armed groups. A spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said that China is highly concerned about the development of the situation in northern Myanmar, does not want war to occur, and sincerely hopes that the conflicting parties will "cease fire and stop fighting."
