You came into this world and into my life with fireworks on 4th of July weekend and now 20 4th of Julys later, you go out with fireworks. My beloved Zeus, you have blessed my life beyond words can say. I remember walking into the animal shelter, originally looking for a dog but decided to just check out the cat room and there you were. A tiny 7 week old kitten with all four of your paws reaching out between the bars of your cage and meowing super loud while staring at me intently. Then when I looked at your info on the cage, it was determined it was the 7th day and at that time, at 3:00p.m., they were gonna put you down at 5:00p.m. as they could only keep animals for 7 days before they have they euthanize if no one adopts them. Thank God I found you in time and what an amazing journey we've had together. While I love all of my animals, none of them had stuck by my side 24/7 as you had. You slept beside me nightly. You sat on the corner of the bathtub every time I'd take a shower. You'd sit on top of the sink as I did my routine teeth brushing, shaving, etc. You even sat on my Dad's chest all the way to him taking his last breath to pass on. Zeus you'll forever be in my heart and my baby boy. 20 years may be a long journey for a cat but it's never enough time.
