The UN recently removed the Belize Barrier Reef from its list of endangered world heritage sites. It no longer faces immediate danger from development, and the country of Belize has put an active effort into conserving it. The UN had listed what the critical factors were endangering the reef, and Belize implemented new policies to save it - such as no longer exploring for oil around the reef and protecting mangroves along the coast line.

I was watching Justice with a friend yesterday because it's probably our favorite episode of the first season. We both had a problem with the fact that Picard apparently couldn't save Wesley because of the Prime Directive, but somehow it was ok for him to take one of the Edo up to the Enterprise to look at her ACTUAL GOD. Doesn't that seem....worse??
Well, Star Trek has a long history of captains taking strange alien women back to the Enterprise to show her god if you know what I mean.
