Dryad’s saddle (Polyporus squamosus)
Finally new mushroom content!! While up visiting my boyfriend’s parents, I saw these out the car window on the drive from the station and walked back to the neighbouring village the next day to pick them up.
These are older than most people would gather them - they’re quite tough - but I love their light, floral, almost melon-ey flavour so much that I’ll eat em anyway (with fried courgette flowers from the garden).
