I am VERY SORRY for the lateness… I really have no excuse… Don’t hate me! >_< Moreover, I have modified some things of the prompt (let’s call it adaptation… I have this headcanon that Gray doesn’t trully talk about his feelings openly because of being tsundere as fuck but… I think I fixed it ^^).

After the big fight against the Avatar guild, Gray and Juvia came back to that place that had been their home in the past. The water mage felt how the walls of the shelter, which were witness of what they had lived there, brought her back memories. Those memories were her anchor in her dark days, the ones in which her loved one wasn’t with her and clouds were keeping her from watching the light. But now the ice mage was at her side again and she felt how, bit by bit, she was recovering her strength.
The sound of the door of her room opening startled her, making her push the suitcase she was trying to close. Juvia rushed to put the contents back on it and placing it on the bed, which made her trip and almost lose her balance. When she finally put the contents inside the baggage, Juvia turned around and, for her own surprise, found Gray in the middle of the room with a puzzled expression on his face.
“Are you alright?” Gray asked.
“Yes! Don’t worry, Gray-sama! Juvia only has been startled because she didn’t expect Gray-sama to appear in her room!” Juvia moved her arms nervously.
“Ah. Sorry. I wanted to tell you something before we leave to Magnolia…”
“What?” Juvia looked at him, only finding in his eyes determination and a glint of warmness. Gray wasn’t the kind of person who liked to share his feelings with others. However, the water mage had learned in those months living with him, that words weren’t needed to understand Gray Fullbuster. She knew that it was merely impossible to break the shield of ice that protected him from breaking apart, but she was okay with it. That’s why she was surprised by his last words. What was he going to tell her? Did she do something wrong? Was he going to leave again?
“I’m… I’m sorry…“ the ice make mage whispered as he lifted his arm to scratch his nape nervously and look at the ground. “What I did… I did it for the sake of the plan and… I didn’t want to put you in danger…” Suddenly, Juvia rushed to catch Gray in a soft embrace, making him stop his speech.
“You don’t have to apologize, Gray-sama,” the water mage whispered to his chest. “Juvia knows Gray-sama had so much to cope with in these months and she understands. But now we’re going home, with Fairy Tail. That would be a great opportunity to start all over again, Gray-sama.”
Juvia lifted her head from his chest to look at her loved one. There was confusion because of the sudden speech but also a glint of something she couldn’t identify. Then, Gray put his hands in both shoulders of Juvia, making her blush.
“It’s not that I’m too excited to see flamebrain again or that scary woman again…”
“Gray-sama!” Juvia laughed while Gray looked away, unable to face her. She knew that the ice mage wasn’t good with words, but being with him she learned to read him. Gray felt safe behind that ice armor and his harsh words and Juvia respected that.
“But if there’s a place to begin again that’s Fairy Tail.”
“Yes, Gray-sama! It’s time to see our family!”
After those last words, Gray left the room. Juvia knew that beyond that cool attitude, Gray was as happy and excited to go back to their home as she was. The guild really changed her life. She remembered the dark days at Phantom Lord, when she was the gloomy girl. Yes, she had Gajeel, but she never felt that guild as her home. She was still empty. But then, when she joined Fairy Tail, something changed. That guild gave her a real family and a reason to live. It had been though when it had disbanded, but now they were going to have a second opportunity.
And she couldn’t wait to see her beloved family together again.
