TURBO DRIVE - DJ MyKill #turbodrive #djmykill #mykill #synthwave #dnalounge #sanfrancisco (at DNA Lounge)
At a time when 98% of all buzzing remixes seem to subscribe to the future bass and trap craze that’s taken over the electronic music scene, two Bay Area production heroes have chosen to give us a refreshing approach on Swedish duo Galantis’ latest hit single, Hunter. MyKill and Party Ben unite for an 80′s inspired take on the track, dealing out an electro house meets synthcore thrill ride. The dramatic throbbing, vibrant pulsing remix stirs me into a glorious and extravagant dance frenzy.
(MyKill)
I was incredibly happy earlier this year when dance pop duo Midi Matilda made a fine return on wildly infectious new song Tidal Wave, easily one of the most catchy synthpop jams this year. In a Bay Area loaded affair, San Francisco’s MyKill has unveiled a new remix of the song. As if it wasn’t already an impossible task to resist dancing to the original, MyKill has me grooving enthusiastically to his radiant wave of strutting nu-disco and balmy indie house. This remix is as pool party or beach festivities ready as they come. Download the track, here, and dance to your heart’s content while we wait for Midi Matilda’s new album.

It’s time for some local pride as we turn to San Francisco’s MyKill, who collaborates with fellow Bay producer Kue for some heavenly deep disco thrills on resplendent Let’s Ride. It’s Sunday funday for me right now grooving out to this funky electrifier, one that’s already received support from the likes of The Knocks and Cosmo Baker. It’s no big surprise that The Knocks digs the jam’s crunchy guitar, lustrous synths, and thumping beats as I do; I can see it fitting right into a The Knocks DJ set, next to Classic and Brightside. Let’s Ride is available for free, here.
