who is more likely to hurt the other?
either of them, really. they both have rough pasts that can quickly cause them to lash out when they’re in pain. they don’t do it often though, and a lot of the time when it happens neither backs down – you come at me, i come at you.
who is emotionally stronger?
maeve would say ennis, lord knows she’s depended on him through so much whenever she felt the urge to turn back to drugs. he’s the reason she’s clean, and she knows it. she wouldn’t have survived without being able to lean on him.
who is physically stronger?
ennis, though maeve will argue about that one time she beat him at arm wrestling in a pub in ireland. she’ll not include the part where she’d been teasing him all night and distracting him, though.
who is more likely to break a bone?
who knows best what to say to upset the other?
both of them. they both have their reasons for getting upset, for having pain, and somehow…the other just makes it better.
who is most likely to apologize first after an argument?
ennis. he might have more of a temper, but she’s a lot more stubborn. it’s one thing to be of irish blood, it’s another to be raised in it.

maeve, i believe, would be the closer to “constant”, but really neither of them are that dependent on someone else. though they got through a lot because of each other, both of them are very independent and strong in their own ways too. but maeve leans on him a lot, especially when she gets close to the brink of breaking her sobriety.
you would think ennis, but maeve is either ahead or tied with him. it might come from having left home for him, to come with him back here to boston, but a lot of it also comes from knowing how much she leans and depends on him for being clean. she’s not sure if she’d survive losing him, on being left alone.

ennis, perhaps because with his temper he knows it’s best.
ennis did, but maeve has more than once probably asked “when the hell you going to propose you sad sack of shit?” jokingly after sex.
who has the most difficult parents?
maeve’s mother died when she was was a teen, and she doesn’t remember her dad. so simply for just being around, it’d be ennis’. but she loves the o’briens.
who initiates hand-holding when they’re out in public?
maeve, again. she’s such a bed and blanket hog if he’s not spooning her he’s probably getting no blankets or bed room.
who is better at cheering the other up?
ennis can do wonders when it comes to lighting up maeve’s world.
who’s the one that playfully slaps the other all the time after they make silly jokes?
maeve, sometimes it’s a punch to the arm though.
both are pretty streetwise, it comes from him being on the streets of boston and her growing up the way she did in ireland.

ennis brags about maeve and her schooling a lot, so proud of how far she’s come. he even extended his stay in ireland just to see her finish her first degree.
