My lightsaber hilt is finished! I love all its features and am happy with the (far from perfect) paint job. Weathering and highlighting it makes a lot of difference. I will enjoy it until I decide to start on the inside.

Light saber hilt update: a lot of priming, paiting, masking and taping has been going on. I had hoped using the aluminum tape would be easier, but alas it hat to be kept to a minimum. I am happy with the other colors, but upon testing the elements decided against the leather stripe. Need a replacement now...
Almost there! More bits and pieces were added to the hilt today and I am pretty happy. Now I need to add the leather grip and weather the paint job. Maybe it'll be done by my birthday.
Assembly time! The light saber hilt is almost finished (well, the outside of it). After the paint and the clear coat have dried I started glueing in the greeblies and small details that will make this look like something from a galaxie far far away.
Here are some of the elements and greeblies that will be part of my light saber hilt. It's fun figuring out where to add buttons or details and how to attach them.
This is the first of a (probably very long) series of posts. I'm attempting to assemble a light saber hilt. It won't have any electronics in it and it will be done mostly with found parts.
Best job ever! #mylightsaber #lampworking
