Closed Starter for @myrecompense || Plagae Tenebris
| ♛ | ~ This task was daunting and never-ending, and Yozora was beginning to tire of it, as were everyone left that resided within Aeterna. When had this all started, it was difficult to pinpoint, but all that the silvery blond could recall was that it had been a long time, only things had recently worsened. Anyone falling victim to the Plagae creatures didn’t simply die and that be the end of it, but their bodies were used to create even more of the rotting corpse-like monsters. It was truly something out of a nightmare, only there was no waking up and putting the experience away in distant memories.
Screams and sounds of gurgling could be heard echoing all around, as the swordsman sliced through some of the Skeletals, bones and rotting flesh being thrown aside and onto the ground, some of the tar-like substance that dripped from the mouths of the skulls clattering to the ground, burning through the pavement. Gunshots, rocket fire from the large machines being used to aid in their fight against the Plagae, even the Gigas mechs were having a difficult time with the creatures, the metal stood no chance against whatever corrosive ooze dripped from the Skeletals and the reanimated corpses of the deceased.
Tearing flesh from bone, Yozora shot off at one of the more recently resurrected bodies, knocking one of its arms clean off, sending coagulated blood and shattered pieces of bone flying into the air, before sending off another round directly into the center of its forehead, knocking the creature back to the ground.
Hearing something from behind, and feeling a rather sudden influx of energy, it made Yozora spin on his heel, turning to find himself face to face with someone lying on the ground, surrounded by the Skeletals. It wasn’t anything unusual, it could have just been another lifeless body, and to anyone else they would have probably disregarded the sight.
Yozora however, could sense the energy radiating off of whoever it was, prompting him to turn and rush toward the creatures surrounding the individual on the ground. Sword in hand as it was summoned in a flash of red sparks, the heir dashed through them in a nearly effortless looking motion, slicing the monsters in half at their spinal columns, and raising a hand up into the air, a red, spherical barrier appeared around himself and the unconscious person. It wouldn’t last long, but long enough to allow him to figure out who this was exactly, and why they were here.
“Hey, get up! You need to wake up, or you’re going to get killed!” he shouted, mismatched eyes glancing down at the other man who laid motionless. They were alive and breathing, that much Yozora could tell, but they didn’t have a whole lot of time before his barrier would disappear.
