Can you tell me more about bird pet play? I've only really heard of dog/cat stuff. Like what are the birdie things you do, how should someone else treat their crow

So, for me, bird pet play is about two things: control through intelligence, and the tension between domestication and being wild.
Birds are very intelligent animals, and crows are some of the most intelligent birds. A favorite thing of mine to do if I am a sub, is to be assigned a task where I have to use my brain for a treat. It’s stimulating for me but also simple and safe. The point of pet play is to escape human stress and responsibility, to find safety and security. I get to do that, enjoy an activity like a puzzle, AND get a treat and possibly praise? Sign me up.
In terms of dominance, crows are carrion birds. I am smart. Meaning that if I am handling a sub, especially another pet, my ability to direct them comes from a place of careful planning and structure. I have rules, expectations. Often times I incorporate medfet here because the role of a doctor suits that. And I already have a plague mask, haha.
Finally, the tension between a pet and a bird that is, by nature, wild. I’m a fucking brat, so one of my favorite ways to get put in my place is to be threatened with forcible domestication. Being put in a birdcage, threatening to put a hood on me, etc. It thrills me because that sort of dominance is just kind of primal; the slow breakdown of my independence not by something that wants to hurt me, but by something seeking connection and out of a need to care for me. Gives me chills.
As for how someone should treat their bird, birds are unique! Is your bird like me, who likes puzzles and singing for rewards? Are they a bird of prey would benefit from “hunting”, perhaps with another scene partner? Do they enjoy being pampered and preened and treated liked royalty? It’s up to you to find out!
