progress update on MySims Interests In The Sims 4 mod: got all the skill + career bonuses plotted, wanna have at least one interaction and one moodlet for each trait before i actually pop open S4S and start making the sausage.

also, liked/hated interests, rather than being visible traits, would ideally be hidden prefs auto-assigned to young adult+ sims (there'd be global or npc-only options) or manually assigned by players (would work a little bit like gender identities in lumpinou's lgbtqia mod in that sims over a certain age can get auto-assigned but under that age you can only assign manually).

bonuses are based on a combination of "obvious for that interest", "inspired by mysims character that has that interest", and "vibes", lmk if you think i should switch them around or if you have an idea for a moodlet/interaction.

also i'm gonna weight all traits and preferences (save for the lovestruck turn-ons/offs bc they're effectively identical to the preferences anyway) for specific interests so if you have any ideas for those by all means lay em on me

in practice i kinda wanna make each trait rewarding for more than just the skill/career bonuses; like the core interest traits would all have moodlets that help manage different emotions and situations. for example, since i play with occults a lot and think it's cringe that sims seem to universally hate it when vampires or ghosts or werewolves use their powers i have a couple moodlets for Spooky sims that replace or mitigate negative moodlets from different occult encounters

it pains me to acknowledge that decor prefs exist at all and im gonna be honest i could not tell what buildbuy items correspond to what decor type if you pay me million dollars so unless people are clamoring in the streets begging for decor prefs to play a role in my "mysims interests in ts4" mod they simply will not
