A little note to myself

University begins soon. You made it through high school, and even if you’re wondering if you did the right choice by taking a gap year to study languages and work then let me tell you this: you made that decision if a matter of heart, and you know you won’t let yourself down. Do your best, as always, and whenever you feel like it’s getting to you - reach out to the people who care. You may feel like you’ve been thrown out in the wild after graduation, but trust me, you’re going to find your way through it.

Goal: knowing many languages so that you can ask people if you can pet their dog wherever you are

Me studying my native language for school purposes: this is so boring why are we forced to learn more about a language that we're already fluent in

My studying foreign languages on my own: omg I didn't know there's twenty words for red this is so interesting I am so motivated and inspired to learn as much as I can about this language

when I am translating foreign songs into my native language I realise how weird they would sound if they were in my native language, but at the same time I am so fascinated by it and get even more motivated to learn foreign languages
