#RIP Mani. Gone way too soon....Gary Mounfield's iconic baselines were a crucial element of The Stone Roses greatest tracks....it's always been about the rhythm section, and he and Reni always brought the heartbeat and Northern Soul to the baggy sound. Listen to 'Fools Gold' or 'I Am The Resurrection' or 'She Bangs The Drums' and see how quickly you want to get up outta your seat and shake your ass. That's what Mani did...he played bass, along with 3 other lads from Manchester on quite simply the greatest debut album in the history of rock and roll, by one of my all-time top ten favorite bands.
He was widely known to be an excellent bloke and was well loved. Condolences to his sons and to his friends and family.
Thank you for the music and godspeed brother, you will always be the cause of much love and much dancing. As he himself stated "that's what the [bass and drums] are for". 🖤🖤🖤
