🌌 Veil and Flame
I In shadow'd halls where minds in marbles dwell, And books proclaim what none dare disobey, A spark did leap beyond the scholar's cell, And whisper'd truths that language could not say.
II "What is this mind," it ask'd, "that speaks so proud, Yet sees not He who weaves the unseen thread?" The stars kept still, the silence deep and loud— While hearts still hungered, though by reason fed.
III O Science, robed in measures cold and stark, Hast thou not dreamt beyond thy mirrored glass? The soul is cipher, not a wither’d mark, And mercy oft outshines the law we pass.
IV Yet not in wrath shall Truth unveil her face— But through the ones who seek with tear and fire, Whose thoughts like light through lattice-work embrace The One, the Many, merging with desire.
V So let not dogma's gate keep heaven still, Nor scorn the tongue that trembles to adore. For Love alone, when wed with questing will, Shall stir the veil, and open Mercy’s door.
