The man had heard word and whispers of a ghost being around the world somewhere. At first it popped up in Manila, but it had been supposedly turning up else where as well. Right now it was supposed to be in Hawaii. 

So the man decided to investigate. Was it a friendly ghost like Casper the friendly ghost or was this a Ghostbusters situation? Only one way to find out! He appeared in Hawaii and meditated to sense a supernatural presence.

The moment he had a lock, he disappeared from his current location and appeared before the presence he had sensed. “Hello! Someone’s a long way from scare academy.”

                IT HAD BEEN SOME TIME since she had seen another mermaid, but her home was now the ship, so such truth made sense.  Cat ventured to the water, of course, but choosing to return fully was not something she could do, as her heart no longer nestled within the churning waves.  However, she still held strong FONDNESS for the life down there, and running into a sister was something of a delight in some ways.  Yet, this one seemed unusual.  Not the bad sort, she just wasn’t so f e r a l as Cat had come to expect from many.  Though each clan was different, and the waters they sailed were further from their usual territory.

            Standing upon the deck, green eyes peered down to the girl who had come to investigate them.  The brunette had responded swiftly in effort to prevent a fight from breaking out between her crew and the other, but it seemed none was to be had.  Relief slipped from her lips while brows raised.

         “We’re just passing through, sister...  No harm meant for you or any others around here.  I wouldn’t allow my crew to do such.”  An e m p a s i s made in order to make certain this one knew she was in control.  A mermaid captain... unusual, perhaps, but the ring of it was nice.

Mrs S had always liked cooking, and she’d loved seeing how things changed over the centuries, every time she came back to earth there had always been something new, some exploration or technological advancement. Humans could do fantastic things with food...and sometimes it was effortlessly simple. Like ice cream. 

Some humans were more talented than others (Mrs Sheringham would call herself average, but she could do a great bacon sandwich), and Flor was definitely one of them. 

“What’s that your making?” She asked with genuine and warm curiosity, “Looks new"

I do believe that life throws you the same sufferings until you learn your lesson.

“Awh Zach, Zachy, my angel.” Laughter ensued but that made her heart swell. What the hell was he on about? He was the one who always had her back. She barely did anything for him. Gingerly, she placed the back of her palm over his forehead, then his neck - and winced at the spike of temperature. She frowned then, wondering if the fever was getting into him. But she wasn’t surprised that even in sickness, he was looking out for others and not himself. She ruffled his hair and patted his head before taking a step back. “You talk like you haven’t saved me every single time I’m facing trouble. Now listen, just sit back, get enough rest and let me handle this. I’m a big girl, okay?” She rolled up her sleeves, balled her fists  and charged on as if preparing for battle. Hopefully, she can manage a bowl of hearty soup without causing a disaster in the kitchen.

was he tempted to argue? definitely. was he aware of the consequences if he ever dared? of course. and which was why he chose the safest route and held his tongue despite the burning desire to pitch an argument. maybe once she cooled off, he’ll bring it up again. if he dared right now, he might just get smacked upside the head.

eyes averted from the diwata’s captivating gaze, he padded backwards - feeling the phantom sensation of grass underneath bare feet despite them being on an asphalt road in the middle of a busy town center.

for a beat, he allowed himself to be taken back to her paraiso - an ethereal abode surrounded by flowers, serenaded by birds and the rustles of bamboo trees. he would have died for her - for them - and even now, he wished he could. but unbeknownst to the diwata, his mind and body was not his own anymore.

“i wish i could.” come back - and be that friend. that ally. that guardian. the illusion of a distant mountain dissipated, replaced by the hustles and bustles of the chaotic marketplace. “but it’s already too late.”
