hii i was planning on writing a german story, would it be alright to keep the dialogue in english, at least the words that are spoken in english? I would of course provide the german translation but I think it would be cool to also show the differences of wording and fluency of my mc in english through this
hello!! of course that would be alright! there is no right or wrong way to write a story and honestly, it's not even that uncommon for people to change registers of language or jump between languages in literature. sometimes it even makes more sense for characters who are multilingual. but even if it doesn't "make sense" in a strict sense, it would still be alright. this is your story, your work, your mind and hand and personal voice being put into it.
