My love affair with @dollyparton began when I was six years old and my grandmother bought me my first vinyl, 9 to 5 and Odd Jobs. I still own it to this day and if I ever meet her, it's the one thing I want signed. By 8 I knew all about the chicken ranch and always thought Miss Mona showed that the life of a madame was full of grit, strength, integrity and even love. I've already shared what Steel Magnolias meant to my Aunt Bernice and me and I'm pretty sure we can blame Straight Talk for the invention of BAUB Radio, The Baub Show and my upcoming @beeyoupodcast. As I was graduating high school, I had gone to AAA and gotten a map of Tennessee. While everyone else was dreaming of senior trips to Europe, I had mapped out flying into Memphis to visit Graceland, driving to Nashville to see Alan Jackson sing about the Chattahoochee and then wrap my trip up in Pigeon Forge for a weekend at Dollywood. While shooting the movie Cast Away in Memphis, I made it to Graceland and an overnight road trip to Nashville, but never far enough east to the Smokey Mountains. Over the years, my beautiful friends have brought me so many souvenirs from Dollywood I could open my own gift shop. This morning, I woke up in a resort in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee. I'm writing this from a jacuzzi tub and getting my muscles ready for a day of fun. With one of my best friends of 25 years, whom is now being affectionately called my childhood friend, in tow, I'm finally on my way to Dollywood as I continue to check off items on my list and getting the absolute most out of #mysummerofyes.
