Another very common myth. Whilst a virus may cause your PC to run slowly there are other issues that are more likely. It may be that you have too many programs running on automatic start up. There may be add-ons or plug-ins running that are not required. Additionally, it could be a case of needing to upgrade the memory, processor or hard drive.

It’s a myth. Much as a laptop is called such because it is lap sized it is not recommended to use it on your lap. The reason being that this often prevents the excess heat from getting out via the air vents. You should invest in a laptop tray or cooling pad and place it under the device to ensure that it stays cool.

It’s a myth that current laptop batteries should be fully discharged to prolong their lifespan.
This was true for old nickel-cadmium batteries. These had what was called a “memory effect.” If discharged and recharged to the same point several times, they would remember that point in the future and not go further.
Now, laptops typically come with lithium-ion (or Li-ion) batteries. These don’t suffer from this memory effect. They actually function better with being partially discharged instead of letting the battery run completely flat.
