Day 13: What do you think is the hardest thing about distance?
MYUUN: Definitely not being able to comfort them when they need you. I think it is the most painful and most excrutiating thing that when the person you love the most is hurt, or you are feeling hurt that you can’t be with each other to hug them and hold them.
Words are powerful, of course. Talking to someone is something that is absolutely important and that cause impact. But they just aren’t the same as wrapping your arms around them and hugging them really close and letting them cry on you. It really hurts me so much. Whenever I feel sad and I’m crying, I hate crying in my room alone. Although Jack does his best and he does end up comforting me at the end, I wish I could cling onto him and cry against his chest. When Jack struggles to sleep at night and is feeling anxious, I wish I could just slide into bed next to him and rub his best until he fall asleep. I think that this is probably the hardest, especially when you are feeling upset and all you want to do is hold each other.
Of course you know that everything will be okay, but it still feels lonely. ;;
MYUKUN: The hardest thing about distance, aah. We've gone over it before, but it's definitely the physical aspect of it. The fact that you can't physically be there for them. Whether it's intimacy or to comfort them while they're upset, the distance is what hurts the most in those moments. It also significantly restricts the activites you and your partner can do together. Walking through the city then coming back and telling the love of your life all the things you saw and experienced in incredible detail, it isn't the same as actually experiencing it with them. Realizations like that are what the most pain in a long-distance-relationship.
Day 14: Describe a moment you had with him/her last time you were together.
MYUUN: I’m not sure if I have told this story before... I might have. One time Jack and I were in Wellington and we were on a night walk around the city. It was a crisp and freezing cold night and we had had a really amazing time just seeing stuff and going into little shops and having fun. But eventually while walking, Jack really got the urge to pee.
So we go into these public bathrooms that are actually really cool. The entire bathroom section is not a dank ass fucking creepy place, it’s actually in the middle of a big intersection, super well-lit, an artist drew a bunch of stuff on it, it was a great place to pee. You have private stalls and stuff with little sinks in each door.
So Jack and I are going into one but I really don’t want to wait outside cause it was cold. The bathroom was a bit small and it smelled like... well, a public bathroom. Not an aroma I enjoy, but it was warm inside. I had seen Jack pee before and it was no big deal, plus it wasn’t as if I was staring at it just waiting for it to rain. I was just standing around waiting for him to finish. He does so, washes his hands, and we leave, and as we do so this young guy in about his late twenties is waiting outside for his turn.
He looks at us and laughs and goes, “WHOA, WHAT WERE YOU GUYS DOING IN THERE?”
Jack and I immediately start to blush and I get super embarrassed and tell him, “nOOO NOTHING. IT WAS COLD OUTSIDE.”
The guy just keeps laughing and goes inside and is like, “mHM SURE. SURE.”I kept calling out no to him but by the time he went inside and shut the door he couldn’t hear me anymore. It was so embarrassing and so funny and terrible. I felt so ashamed omg. The next time we used the bathrooms, I waited outside. ;///;
MYUKUN: A moment that Larythzza and I shared when she was last here? Ahh, I can't really think of anything exactly specific, but just going over all the things we experienced together while we stayed at a hotel in the city. I thought that was so amazing and lovely. The time we had to ourselves. Not only for privacy, but to just indulge in each other and explore everything. Completely on our own together~
Looking back on it, one memory that I find really exciting for both of us was when we decided to go for a walk the first night. We were both set on finding a neat little restuarant to try out some fancy and exotic food together. I'm pretty sure Larythzza was aiming for something asian related, whereas I just wanted her to experience how great curry was, hah.The one moment that strikes out most in my mind though is when we were walking down the street trying to find a restuarant or place to eat, when we both suddenly see this almost ominous, glowing red chinese lantern? We were both mystified, especially since it just seemed to lead down a quiet and overgrown alleyway. It was really surreal to me, ah. I thought it looked magical. So we both looked at each other and decided to take a chance on it, just out of pure curiousity. What we stumbled upon was absolutely amazing though and we're both so happy since now it's our first date spot~We walked down this calm little alley thinking "Oh gosh, what's down here?" and it was almost kind of spooky but exciting? We eventually started hearing music and seeing lights. Then we realized we had actually walked into a night market. Full of all these neat kinds of food and crafts.
We both had so, so, so much fun there and I'm pretty sure Larythzza made a post upon it but oh gosh. We had so many happy and exciting moments during Larythzza's visit, but I think that's one that stuck with me the most~ Larythzza especially loves it since we both got to try TAKOYAKI and that was delicious.
We looked into it further as well and we realized they're night markets which are held on the same super long street (just at different ends each night) on Friday and Saturday weekly. So next time she comes, we definitely plan to go to them every so often~!
