The first is about CAPHARNAÜM. The french "anniversary edition" was released in December, after months of hard work ! A nice edition - the best of CAPHARNAÜM as yet - with quality printing on quality paper. Now I dream of a full color book like this... maybe one day ? Because now is the time to work on MOON TALES !
The second thing is of lesser interest to you, but it's going to make my life easier to draw !
A little thought for my old pc and Windows XP which I put away after 11 and a half years of good and loyal service. It's replaced by a new promising machine, with SSD and Ryzen 7 processor ! I can now replace Photoshop 7 with the latest version of Photoshop CC (which corresponds roughly to Photoshop 17/18, more than 15 years separate the two versions indeed), with its modern interface and its new tools !
In order to test this new pc, I have compared the opening time of my latest illustration for Capharnaüm (currently the heavier file of all my drawings) : the psd file is 9321 x 12861 pixels and weighs 1,1 Go. It takes 7 min and 30 sec to open the file on the old computer and only 18 secondes on the new one... I think that I'm going greatly to appreciate these new working conditions :D

Next step in one or two years, with the purchase of a Cintiq Pro 16 !

Deux choses !
La première à propos de CAPHARNAÜM dont l'édition anniversaire est sortie en décembre, après de nombreux mois de labeur ! Une belle édition - la meilleure à ce jour - dont la qualité d'impression, de matériau et de fabrication me fait rêver d'un ouvrage tout couleur... Un jour peut-être ? Car pour le moment, place à MOON TALES !

La deuxième chose n'aura peut-être pas grand intérêt pour vous, mais, de mon côté, elle va bien me faciliter la vie pour dessiner !
Une petite pensée donc pour mon vieux PC sous Windows XP que je lâche après 11 ans et demi de bons et loyaux services. Il est remplacé par une nouvelle machine pleine de promesse, à base de SSD et de processeur Ryzen 7 ! Surtout, je passe de Photoshop 7 à la dernière version de Photoshop CC (qui correspond grossièrement à Photoshop 17/18, plus de 15 ans séparent en effet les deux versions), avec son interface plus moderne et ses nouveaux outils !
Histoire de tester ce nouveau pc, j'ai comparé le temps d'ouverture de mon illustration qui tient le record en termes de poids et de résolution, à savoir ma dernière couverture réalisée pour Capharnaüm : le fichier psd fait 9321 x 12861pixels et pèse 1,1 Go. Il met 7 mn 30 à s'ouvrir sur l'ancien et seulement 18 secondes sur le nouveau... Je crois que je vais fortement apprécier ces nouvelles conditions de travail :D
Prochaine étape d'ici un an ou deux, avec l'achat d'une Cintiq Pro 16 !
