This Delta Boeing 767-300ER at Salt Lake City, N181DN, is their second oldest active 767 (N180DN is the oldest active one as of January 2021) having been delivered originally to the airline in August 1992. Delta was the first US airline to fly 767-300 revenue services on 1 Dec 1986 ATL-MIA. The 767-300s were acquired by the airline for primarily domestic and Caribbean runs but were frequently over time used for trans-Atlantic and Hawaiian services. In September 1988, Delta ordered the longer-ranged 767-300ER as a replacement for the Lockheed L-1011 Tristars on the trans-Atlantic services as the Tristars were moved to domestic services. The first 767-300ER revenue flight with Delta was in 1990. The -300ER order was part of an international fleet overhaul with the McDonnell Douglas MD-11s ordered for the trans-Pacific services. By 2006, the 767-300ER was operating the bulk of Delta's trans-Atlantic and Latin American services. Delta currently has the world's largest Boeing 767 fleet with 25 767-300ERs and 18 767-400ERs. #avgeek #aviation #aircraft #planeporn #KSLC #SLC #SaltLakeCity #Utah #airport #planespotting #instaplane ⠀ #Boeing #767 #Delta #N181DN #instagramaviation #splendid_transport #instaaviation #aviationlovers #aviationphotography #flight ⠀ #AvGeeksAero #AvgeekSchoolofKnowledge #AvGeekNation (at Salt Lake City International Airport (SLC)) https://www.instagram.com/p/CJzUEv2BixL/?igshid=zfbayt9g0yvf
