Heyo! I was thinking about a certain spider I encountered about a year or two ago in Northeastern Maryland! All I really remember is that it was HUGE, and I'm pretty sure it was a brownish color. Anyway, I was over at my friend's house, and it was rather windy. I walk behind the rockwall, and this enormous spider's web strand(spider connected, pretty sure it was trying to get down to the ground),, bounced off my glasses and who knows where it went- At the time I had severe arachnophobia, so needless to say, I never went back for at LEAST three months-
I've also seen multiple black widows and this one black spider with a large, white abdomen that was black-spotted? Again, that one was in Northeastern Maryland as well-
If you're asking for IDs, I'd really need to see the spiders! Otherwise you can look at the photos here of species you might see in Maryland and see if any of them match with what you saw :)
