Three of the many Boeing 737MAX aircraft in open storage at Boeing Field- this is an employee parking lot between East Marginal Way and the Duwamish Waterway. The aircraft furthest from me is GOL Airlines MAX-8, PR-XMH. The two United Airlines aircraft are both MAX-9s, N37516 and N27515. The MAX-8 is the equivalent of the 737-800 and the MAX-9 is similar to the 737-900ER. Compared to its equivalent 737NG, the MAX is about 3000 kg heavier on account of CFM LEAP-1B engines which are heavier than the NG’s CFM56s as well as the structural strengthening needed in the engine pylons, wings, fuselage and landing gear.
