Intentions:
Suspense/thriller, romance.
Lucas is an environmental scientist who goes on a research trip to Texas and stays at "Serenity", a ranch owned by Cole's parents. Cole is ex-Army and works on the ranch. Cole and Lucas are starting out at odds because of Lucas' research and Cole's working on the ranch, but eventually theu put their differences aside and learn to coexist.
Last Line Tag Game!
I was tagged by @thethistlegirlwrites to share the last line of my WIP! I wrote this a couple of days ago on Coming back to life:
"What do you say we go and grab some late lunch and wander downtown a bit and then call back home and settle things down? Walter would hate the late afternoon call."
"Who is the imp now?"
Nate was openly laughing now as they dusted themselves and finally left the prison.
I had to go with the last few sentences for context.

Paul Jackson, also known as Paolo Giacomo. He is Nate's adoptive father and Lisa's husband.
Face claim: Luca Marinelli.
Paul and Lisa couldn't have kids and after numerous attempts, they decided to adopt. When they met Nate they didn't think they'd be adopting a teenager, but the kid won them over and they decided to go through with it.
He works at a publishing company and he and Nate bonded over books at first, the love for books the kiddo exhibited just the right way for Paul to start earning his trust.
Even though Nate works as a detective in New York City, he will forever be the teenage boy he met on a rainy afternoonn.
Paul promises to take care of Steve after Steve gets out of jail, and recognizes the love for books Nate has in Steve also. Thanks to a program in prison, Steve has a degree that works just right when Paul retires. He has a talk with his boss and makes it possible for Steve to get employed in the publishing agency, even with his status as an ex-con.
Steven Ellingston, son of Martha and Ian, Nate's older brother.

Steve is five years older than Nate. He is very protective of his little brother. Steve is also kind and loving, a bit on the shy side, and with one hell of a protective streak.
He wanted to become a teacher and was going to enroll in college the year his father killed. He admitted to the murder to protect Nate, right after their uncle promised to keep Nate safe. He told Nate to not visit him in prison again, so their next meeting is not for twenty years.
While inside, he gets a degree on business marketing, thanks to a program that made it possible for prisoners to take classes and get a degree.
After his case is argued in court and Steve is released, Paul agrees to take him in just like Nate and offers Steve his job when he retires, after discussing it with his boss.
Martha Ellingston, Ian's wife, mother of Steven and Nathan, deceased.
Face claim: Scottie Thompson.
Martha is a librarian who had to go part time due to taking care of her kids. Ian is away on jobs a lot and she doesn't have any living relatives to help her out. Due to "Ian" "quitting" his job, the insurance they had through him is gone, so when she gets sick with cancer, she can't get the proper treatments. She doesn't tell her family that she's sick so as to not worry them. Then Ian is murdered, and Steve is arrested, and a couple of months after all of that, she dies, which leads to Nate ending up in the foster system.
Lucas Davison.
Born and raised in San Francisco, Northern California.
Went to the Lake Superior State University in Michigan, attending the College of Science and the Environment.
He has a Bachelor of Science in Fisheries And Wildlife Management from LSSU.
Currently working as an environmental scientist, exploring the Devils River Minnow.
He is 29 years old.
