I saw this while scrolling and thought it’d be nice as a little life update
Reading: ok so I have a few in hand right now. I’m rereading an old favorite on audiobook: Otherland — City of Golden Shadow by Tad Williams, bc he’s got a new Osten Ard book coming out this year and i love revisiting that man’s imagination any chance I get. Then for my book club, Buried Deep & Other Stories by Naomi Novik (the theme was Water this month — instead of everyone reading the same book we pick a theme and then everyone chooses a book in that theme, and we present it to the crew like a book report and explain how it fits the theme LOL, it’s the most fun and lowkey book club I’ve ever had and I’m really enjoying it). And just bc I found a copy of it for $1.99 at my favorite used bookstore, Event Horizon by Steven McDonald. I love sci fi/horror.
Last Song: “Only Son of the Ladiesman” by Father John Misty
Last film: the Cary Fukunaga Jane Eyre
Last series: Snowpiercer. I’ve never seen it before so I’m slowly working my way through it and at the moment it’s just what I want…a rebellion saga! One thousand and one cars…viva la revolución
Sweet or salty: salty all the time. Right now it’s Mexican corn dip with Doritos, bc clearly I want my blood pressure to go up 😄
Coffee or tea: I grew up in a household that kept the British tradition of four o’clock tea, so…tea. It’s always comforting and warm and delicious.
Working on: oh lawd, so many things. Repairing my severely damaged house, for one. Beating back mental illness, for another. Animal husbandry, because somehow I’ve become the caretaker of a bunch of chickens and ducks even though I hate birds? And at the bottom of that list is creative pursuits, although I’ve been told it should be higher up on the list bc it’ll help with the mental illness aspect, lol. So I’m ruminating on how to finish, or at least continue, my old Elucien fic The Gift. If by “working on” you mean “talking to myself in the shower and the car and while I do yard work, trying to puzzle this out.” 😁
albums or playlists? piano or guitar? vocals or instrumentals?
