I have no issue with neurodivergent Nagisa hcs, I think theyre logical.
But Im surprised how often people seem to downplay the reality that Nagisa was horrifically abused. I've brought this up before when discussing Kohaku, but solitary confinement is classified as a form of torture by the United Nations. Extended periods of forced isolation can have serious long term psychological consequences. It would surely be even more damaging to a child in their developmental years to be locked alone in a room and entirely denied contact with their peers in addition to any nurturing that should come from a loving family.
Nagisa clings to Hiyori because he sees Hiyori as a savior who rescued him from his personal hell. Nagisa relies on Ibara to structure his life because he never learned how to do so himself. He struggles to relate to people his own age because he had zero socialization during his developmental years. He's spacey and absent minded because he spent days at a time with no enrichment beyond what his mind could conjure to occupy himself.
Could Nagisa also be autistic? Sure. He checks a lot of the trope boxes. I just think his traumatizing past should also be acknowledged in his characterization.
WOW! Already one year from these chibis I did last year for my first enstars meeting! It was ultra fun... I gifted and worked these chibis in less than a week, that's why I couldn't do all units...
