Stars’ Library Interview with Mamamoo

Honest Confident and Joyful Talent··· Mamamoo who has everything that a girl wants

“Mamamoo have been receiving lots of love since the beginning of the year,starting from Hwasa’s‘TWIT’ to ‘Gogobebe’to Wheein’s recent release ‘Goodbye’.”

They have been giving the title of “Vocal skills that reaches the level of having CDs for meals” with that, they have been recognised as the most powerful girl group.

‘Cool’ Mamamoo who has the charm to be able to pull off happy and bright as well as moody concert well. As well as a unique reputation of ‘A female group having a wide fanbase of female fans”.

Instead of trying hard to look pretty to attract male fans, Mamamoo’s concept is “To show my original self, whether you love me or not, do whatever you want. If you hate it, don’t come to me” This point has captured the hearts of many of their female fans.

Mamamoo debuted in 2014 with ‘Dont be happy’& grew through the years to the superstars they are now. They’ve showed off their dorky-ness through entertainment programs.But they’ve revealed that Eventhough they are artists,they do go through hard times just like a normal person does.

Since their trainee days, each member Solar.Moonbyul.Wheein.Hwasa each have their favourite book they’d read during that time.”At that time,we were forced to read books,but as we begin our activities,we’ve seen a being picture of the world which we weren’t taught in books.”

As an artist, it’s difficult to approach someone and ask ‘What should I do.’

Each member was told to choose their favourite books and talk about it.

Solar:As someone who has interest in producing, she’ve chosen “Kim DoHoon’s Producing Tips” and have learnt music through that.Recently,she have been reading Jung YooJung’s “The Origin Of Species”

When Moonbyul wants to collect her mind, she will visit the book store and choose a book and she likes the smell of the book store. When she’s stressed, she will visit the book store and choose the book ‘그까짓 사람 그래도 사람’ (That human and also a human)

Wheein likes to read books on her own spare time. She’s into poetries like ‘입속의 곰은 입’(Dark mouth within the mouth) Ryu SiHwa’s ‘My pain is a stone, your pain is a flower’.

Wi: Poetries view daily life at a different perspective and expresses itself with short sentences. Those sentences serves as an echo for me many times in my life.

As for Hwasa, when she’s hurt verbally she will read ‘The temperature of languages’ and receive comfort through that book and will feel better.She always have that book with her anywhere she goes and will read it when she’s facing hard times.

Hwasa”I was attracted to the book because of the title and the Color Of it. Whenever I have time I will ready it. When I’m feeling down, it gives me the secureness.”

Through ‘Stars’ Library’ Mini interview ,Mamamoo was able to express their feelings that couldn’t be told easily, sharing their happy time’s as well as lonely times.

Their process of rising up to a superstar they are now.
