REALLY, REALLY late post! Back in February, Indonesian Historical Fashion TikToker, AlmaHello comissioned me for an offline workshop called Kebaya Club. We had some coffee, we learned more about the history, context and function of kebaya in Indonesian history and mix-and matched the paperdoll with kebaya and batik (that I designed)! These are just a small sampling of Indonesian kebaya and batik through the ages. Like many things, our fashion has been influenced by Chinese culture (Batik/Kebaya Peranakan), The Dutch (Batik Buket/Lace Kebaya) and indigenous context! Alma also has an instagram and her content is super educational and fun!
