Soaking makes nail easier to cut

As people grow older it is not just their brow hair that becomes thicker, it is also their nails, and in particular those on toes, and sometimes they are hard to cut, and break when they are cut.

There is a simple solution that apparently many people don't know (because there is a market for extra-strength nail scissors and clippers): soak your feet or even just your toes in water (ideally very salty water); that makes the nails soft and very easy to cut and quite unlikely to snap or break on cutting.
