Sorry for submitting so much this is my third hshjsjs I just really love your redesigns. This oc is really old and she stared out hella cringy.
Don’t worry about it, we’ve got plenty of repeat submitters around here. And haha, all old ocs start out cringy, really! Now let’s see… This girl’s got some interesting ideas bouncing around in her profile that you don’t lay out in incredible detail. Her obvious theme is Butterflies. But you also imply she wants to be stronger, and her ancestor had wings, so there’s some interesting stuff here… Maybe she could wish she was a higher blood color? One of the castes that is often associated with insects like butterflies, maybe?
We could say she’s an olive who wishes she was a cerulean, and who indulges in this fantasy on several occasions, dressing up to play the part.
Name: Nailyn Papilo. Papilo is based off of a word for Butterfly
Papilo I do like, but you don’t explain the origin of Nailyn? What if we replace it instead with Alrabi, as a reference to Al Rabin, a famous producer of Soap Operas. She likes dramatic shows, and she has a hidden layer of dramaticism, so it makes a lot of sense. It’s also perfect for Dramatic Reveals that would come with the cerulean persona suggestion I made. Alrabi Papilo.
Strife Specibus: yo-yo kind
Oooh, is this a butterfly trick joke? I like that a lot! You could also use bladekind and have her use butterfly knives when she’s in Disguise.
Fetch Modus: not sure yet I’m crap at these
She likes gardening, so a flower modus could work, where things have to grow for a certain amount of time in order to access the item. Or you could do a similarly styled cocoon modus, where things need to be Developed and if she removes them before they’re ready, they’ll be underdeveloped. Or a Hungry Caterpillar modus where she has to feed the modus?

How about climacticCaterpillar? Climactic refers to the Best, Most Exciting part of a a story, and caterpillar refers to, obviously, the pre-pupated butterfly.

Personality: Nailyn is a shy quiet troll around people. She’s jumpy and easily startled, and seems bland and boring. When she’s alone or with people she trusts, she’s very energetic and enthusiastic. She wishes she was more powerful, and not just a lowly olive blood.
I definitely want to try to extend on this personality suggestion! She doesn’t have confidence in herself, so she acts quiet and shy when she’s acting as herself. She has this belief that her olive station leans towards her needing to behave more meekly, and so she doesn’t let her personality shine. But when she’s in disguise, her true nature Shines and she lets her energy and enthusiasm really show. She’s the kind of person who can draw others to her easily, and who really knows how to command the front! …Now if only she could get a little confidence in herself.
Interests: gardening, preferably flowers. She also enjoys binge watching dramatic tv shows and movies

I thiiink I want to make her a Knight of Breath? Which might seem a little wild because for a character like her I’d usually lean into heart. I’m partially motivated by not wanting to deal with her being a True Leo, but I also think it’s interesting because Breath is about that airy freedom. Wings are often associated with it, too. And it’s about quest, and journey, and all these things that often come up in someone who’s indulging in fantasy, someone who has their head in the clouds. She’s surrounded and overwhelmed, almost, by too much to handle. And she to learn how to put that direction somewhere useful, exploit it as a weapon instead of just letting herself be adrift.
Land: Land of Lilies and Anger
How about the Land of Lilies and Mountains? Butterflies are well known to have migratory paths that take them around “mountains” that haven’t actually been there for years. There being some alarming obscure path that is interrupting the lives of butterflies on the planets and her needing to learn to exploit the wind to direct them could be a neat quest! The idea of a migration-based question also reflects her new symbol-
Extra: She was one of my first ocs, and has changed much along the way. This will be her final change
I hope it’s been a satisfying change! Let’s move on to the design:
Horns/hair: The horns were cute, but the twist was a little too uncomfortably tight, so I increased them into a larger butterfly-like swirl. And I cleaned up her hair a little bit.
Eyes: They were too obviously Kanaya’s eyes, so I edited them a bit, making them nice and wide like a lemur’s.
Outfit: I edited her symbol and added the proper color on the symbol and shoes!
Hair: I put in some extensions to make her hair longer for the disguise, and then put some cerulean colored hairclips.
Outfit: I gave her a butterfly cape and a neat jacket with a jacket stripe and buttons. I also gave her some nice flowy simple pants and boots edited right from the original.
Symbol: I flipped the symbol and edited into an M shape to fit the cerulean sign language. ...And then I put it in hemoanonymous colors, which is hilarious because of all the cerulean in the rest of her design.
