I was rewatching the Mononoke series (again), and I just noticed this.

They establish at the very beginning of the arc that Nakarai, who, like the other men, is trying to marry Princess Ruri, has been married before, but his previous wife died.

Later, it’s revealed that Nakarai is the one who “killed” Princess Ruri.

Did his wife just happen to pass away, or…?

Mizurou: It'll take a screenshot.

Nakarai: For the last time. Please get out

Mizurou, Hanbee and Juuzou: *staring out the window*

Nakarai: What are you doing?

Mizurou: The tv broke so we’re watching a couple break up across the street.

Juuzou: *On seventeen different types of energy drinks at three in the morning.* I am fire! I am power! I am flames!

Nakarai, sitting on the couch just wanting to sleep: *Face buried in his hands* A nightmare is what you are, right now. Now go to sleep, senpai.

Juuzou: *trembling* No.

Mikage: Did something happen?

Juuzou: *nods* Y-yeah, this morning something… something terrible happened. Something that will have great repercussions and change the life I have known so far…

Hanbee, scared: W-what happened?

Juuzou: *wide eyes* The snooze button of my alarm stopped working!

Suzuya squad: *collective gasp*
