A Message At Dawn || Nalena
@displacedprincess
Nala ran.
She had forgotten all about her schedule and her work. She had only one thing in mind, the last words of Goliath before his eyes had closed and he’d slipped into unconsciousness, as the sun rose above. She felt like she was running against that rising sun-- though there was no stopping it, though it did not matter, though Goliath said he needed his sleep.
Still. He should not be left there in the alleyway with no defense. He should not be alone.
And so she ran, ran to Apartment 403, Castle Suites. To Ximena and Isabel.
She knocked on the door, panting, her knee throbbing (she’d strained it, helping Goliath get to the end of the alleyway, and the sprinting had not been kind to it.) She knocked one more time when someone did not immediately answer-- and it was early in the morning, but this was too important.
Eventually, the door did open.
“Are you--Xime--” she paused, her eyes going wide. Because this woman was not Ximena. She was--
“Elena?” she gasped.
