I’m angry

So last night my brother was told by a neighbor that someone was down in the river messing with our cow (we have a farm, the river is down the hill kind of around the corner/gate) so he goes down with my mom and they see some guys “walking down the street” away from them. Mind you this is a dark, family, country af neighborhood and the only thing down the road they guys are heading down is a church, that was closed.

So they head inside and tell my family (I’m in the dorms so not there) and my grandparents decide to go take another look, when they go outside my brother hears a yell so he runs out and my grandfather (who just came home 3 days ago from the hospital) has collapsed.

Luckily, the neighbors had heard “something” before my family had come out soncops pulled up right then and my brother directed them to the river area. An ambulance was close behind and the medics said my papa’s heart rate had sped up so fast that his defibrillator had freaked out and shocked his heart causing him to black out momentarily but luckily he was responsive and breathing, so my grandparents go to the hospital and my family goes to check the cow.

She’s covered in mud and had blood running down her face. Somehow these idiots had managed to shoot a cow at point blank range - and missed. Don’t get my wrong they hit her and she was badly injured but please tell me how you can miss a shot when the animal in question is so trusting (she was hand raised) that you could put the barrel against her head and she wouldn’t flinch??? So she obviously was hit and hurting and had fallen, the damage was too bad to rationalize keeping her alive and in pain (pleas keep in mind were cattle ranchers with a large herd on our -separate- ranch so she was always destined to be put down but we never do it inhumanly or disrespectfully) so she was put down around 1am.

My papa came home around 2 am and seems okay but in tons of pain.

My cousin has begun issuing island wide threats to the would be thieves. I don’t doubt we’ll find them due to the sheer size of our family and our reach but I have to step up now and keep my generation in line. I want the men hurt, but I don’t want my family in prison. I’m also considering a curse of some kind to bring them to justice while keeping the boys safe.

And before the anons start, I’m from Hawaii, here if you overfish and locals see it, or you’re not local and diving for fish, you should expect to come up to slashes tires, if you’re lucky. When my papa came out of Safeway to find a man in his truck bed in his cooler, my papa hit him so hard he flew out of the truck. Disrespect is not tolerated here, especially not on the West Side.
