Rewatching 4x04 and the way Ryan responds to Nancy's "what if I can't get over Ace" is so meaningful. It's not even what he says "you will", it's his tone, his expression.

It was such a subtle reminder of the love Ryan and Lucy shared. He had his own great love, and he lost it. And he knows how she feels, and can give advice from his own experience. And it's funny, because for all he tries, Ryan doesn't really have much relatable parenting knowledge, but this is something he can tell her, and it's one instance he can be there for his daughter.

And I just think it's beautiful.

I am watching Nancy Drew for the first time and my absolute favorite thing is Carson and Ryan's unequivocal trust in Nancy.
