I did a NaNoWriMo, friends! That was... a LOT of words to write in a month (not the highest word count I've gotten in a month, but close), and I think I'm very ready to get back into editing Ice & Smoke again so I can start posting updates again. I'm not sure when I'll be ready to post the next chapter, but considering the fact that I now have 18 drafted but unedited chapters waiting around (and I really only want to have 2 fully edited before I take Ice & Smoke off hiatus), it shouldn't be too much longer.

For now, though, I'm off to bed and taking tomorrow (mostly) off from writing. Gotta recharge the brain juices to get ready for all that editing! Also no sneak peek today because spoilers.

They walked into the office. It was dark, with a wooden desk facing the door and two stiff looking wooden chairs in front of it. Behind it sat a severe looking man with a trim gray beard and strong eyebrows with deep frown lines around his eyes. Joseph Aubdurn, Volimere's Chief of Police. Alex's least favorite man in the entire city. James' least favorite man in the entire city. Most people's least favorite man in the entire city, to be perfectly honest.

Notes: I HIT 20K Y'ALL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! also, I made the crappy police chief even crappier. AND AND AND AND AND. I HIT 20K. I KNOW I SAID THIS ALREADY BUT I'LL SAY IT AGAIN CAUSE. *joyful screaming*

NaNo Day 3

I think my momentum is slowing down a bit. I feel like it's a combination of being very tired today, having to write a speech and a history essay for school, and the fact that I'm nearing the end of act 1. The beginning of act 1 was super easy to write, I think because it took place almost entirely in a cave and it was just Linda, Cynthia, and Elara being a little family. Now we're getting into the territory where I'm less sure of what's going to happen and we're going out into 🌌the world🌌.

I also did a very bad thing today. I committed a murder. She's one of my favorite characters and I'm very upset about her dying. I cried.

The forest seemed so quiet and lonely now. She didn't know what to do or how to get back to the cave. What if Linda never found her?

What if she doesn't want me enough to keep looking for me?

She thought about the werewolf boy she'd met and what he could've taken from someone that would've made him so upset. Why he was alone in the woods at the same time she was, with no sign of a pack or a family. Maybe he was a little bit like her. Strange, out of the place he was supposed to be, and without his real family.

The NaNoWriMo Milestones pt.1

hello and how are you?

WE HAVE DONE IT EVERYONE!

we have a lot of work ahead of us, as our goal is 120,000 Words, but as of last night, we have officially won the traditional NaNoWriMo Goal of 50k Words!

there are not any of the solid goodies yet, so we don't have anything to really do a lot with, but it is definitely a wonderful accomplishment! we have done it!

here are the stats for the last day we have done things - last night, so November 11th - and did SO MUCH yesterday bc we were doing games in the CANS server. ≧(´▽｀)≦

we know we have been a little spotty this last week with the word counts, but we have definitely been working hard to get to the goal or 4k a day, and managed to do so much more than that! so we are very happy with this milestone, and the ending of this goal!

we are on our way to doing more and more this month; we have two more goals to hit, 100k and 120k! So we will be continuing on everyone! if you want to check things out, we have a NaNo Page on our blog that will be updated today! :D

also, we are sorry for being so quiet this month, NaNoWriMo is definitely taking up all of our attention, and we have been focused on getting the words down and worked through as we go for our goals! hopefully, once NaNoWriMo ends, we will be able to do a lot of content and games and everything else! so we hope to see everyone at the end of this!

“Nakamura Taiga,” she said, prompting him to look at her. “Do you want to die?”

Nakamura Taiga. It felt strange and distant and completely not him, as if she was talking about some other boy he had never met before. He had easily learned every single detail of the new identity Kotori had created for him, but it still felt to him like what he had memorized was information from someone else’s life, a historical figure perhaps, or the character info of some main character in a videogame.

All of a sudden, he was tired, so very tired. His head was pounding, and his eyes were dropping and there was a raw ache in his throat that was becoming stronger by the minute. For some reason, there was a song stuck in his head, a lullaby his mother used to sing to him when he was a kid. He didn’t know when the last time was she had sung to him, when was the day that he had suddenly become too old to go to sleep to his mother’s voice. He wished he remembered now. He wished it was her actual voice and not an echo of it resounding inside his head right now.

He didn’t want to die, of course he didn’t.
