"Keiko’s Room #25" Cover Collection Nanpasen by Akina Nakamori

I have never had two YouTube broadcasts in one week so it feels like no time at all has passed between my last and my new regular cover collection episode. It’s my third time covering a song by Akina Nakamori. This is my first ballad though.

When I cover a song, I want to do it justice by expressing it in a certain way and for me the correct way to do that is always based on the original version. So basically that’s what I try to achieve but this time it turned into something of a mix between a whisper voice and a chest voice🎼

I was quite nervous to sing this because it is one of my favourite songs. Every word seems to rest on the melody, a smooth articulation is quite tricky.

During my hiatus two years ago I was spending a lot of time at the studio, watching and listening to her performances, occasionally I was so moved that I started to cry and felt like singing her songs.

By doing this cover collection, I am discovering different singing styles for myself and every time it’s thrilling for if you get to listen to something new. I hope you enjoy them as much as I do.

Next time it might be another solo cover~ Or maybe another collaboration~ Please look forward to \ (^ o ^) /
