“Ghibli wo Utau” Concert Vol.#2 ~Toki no Uta~
Today's TV broadcast of “Ghibli wo Utau” Concert Vol.#2 has been uploaded to Bilibili so we can finally watch Kalafina's performance!!
Oh wow!! I did not expect to love this so much. Was not a huge fan of the original version to be honest but I immediately fell in love with Kalafina's rendition. Feels so nostalgic. Kinda reminiscent of some old YK songs... Love how the solo parts really puts a spotlight on what they have achieved as solo artists. The section reflects their individual singing styles so well without relying too heavily on their traditional "Kalafina-voices" (not sure if this makes sense XD). Makes me even more desperate to hear them sing self-covers of their solo work during their Kalafina concerts. Hopefully they will start introducing those one day!! But of course I also adore the sections where their voices come together. When they are singing "wasurenaide", I cannot help but tear up, they sound so beautiful together, gorgeous harmony!! Everything that follows after that is just *chef's kiss* Let me just listen to this forever and ever. So happy to have my girls back.

Animax Musix Kalafina Set Review
Someone: How many times have you watched that video?
Me: Yes!
My God! I was not expecting this at all. I was patiently waiting for the Kalafina Anniv Live 2026 on Mar 14... and then THIS happened. You don't know how happy this made me.
The costumes are beautiful. So elegant. Perfect for each member. I can't wait to see more of it. Keiko seriously upped her charm here. That curly hair suits her very much. All three of them look so beautiful like they're still in their 20s. Seriously… what is the secret? 😆
The setlist was great. It was very balanced with all three leading. I was a little surprised that they chose Ongaku instead of another song with anime tie-ins. But after watching them enjoy that performance, I finally understood. They want to have fun on that stage, and ongaku is a very good choice for that.
Their stage is so lively and powerful. Seriously exciting to watch. I've read some comments on Twitter from people who attended. They said they liked it a lot, especially Magia. I can also see the Kalafina ladies enjoying the performance. Their smiles are so brilliant. I couldn't stop smiling watching them. They really brought their A-game. Their stage presence is so strong, especially Hikaru. Her emotes are so cool, voice very powerful. Keiko was capturing hearts left and right with her stable singing and visuals. And then Wakana with her strong singing. She does get breathless at times, and there was a small mistake in the Kajiurago part in Ongaku, but it didn't spoil anything. Still an amazing performance.
My only complaint is how sometimes I can't hear Keiko's harmony.
For longtime fans, this feels monumental for Kalafina. Seeing Kalafina perform on the Animax Musix stage together with other anisong artists felt really special and gave me so much hope for the future. Here's hoping for more activities with them together, especially concerts like these or even one-man lives.
I'm wondering if part of Precipice Moirai took musical inspiration the Japanese vocal group, Kalafina. This is just me spitballing, but given what Idia says about the music (not the group's appearance, I'm certain the group's appearance comes from the Disney 3 Fates), makes me think that Yana Toboso might've taken inspiration for the music Premo makes from Kalafina. They aren't an idol group, but their company has employed idol marketing for them before, and they're a trio of vocalists and they got started predominantly to work on the theme songs of Garden of Sinners, before expanding.
It wouldn't be the first time there could be subtle references to other non-Disney things, Mama Shroud's helmet design seems to me to be a very subtle reference to the fact her JP voice is Sakura Kinomoto from Card Captor Sakura as the "bangs" of the helmet look kind of similarly styled to how Sakura's bangs fall.
Reasons I think they might be part of the inspo for the music side of Premo? One of the labels they worked under is Space Craft Produce and the Ignihyde siblings have that tie to stars and space. They are also known for their anime music. And some of the anime they did music for?
Gardener of Sinners, Puella Magi Madoka Magica, Fate series, and Black Butler.
If Kalafina is part of the musical inspiration for Premo, then I fully get why Idia's such a fan. I really enjoy their style of music too.
Again, I'm just guessing. I don't know! But given, we will probably never hear a Premo song, I just was trying to figure out what would be close.
Hayatımın en mutlu anıymış,bilmiyordum.
