Scanlan. You don’t know why this is a Scanlan idea yet, not fully, but rest assured, it’s a Scanlan idea. This would be a Scanlan character study which means I don’t think I could write it because I honestly find Scanlan such a hard perspective to get into.

Gumption

This feels like a Percy character study about his belief he’s a coward tbh. I don’t think he ever uses the word “gumption” in canon which is a shame because it’s potentially a very Percy word but it could be an interesting snippets-throughout-his-life kind of thing, from when he’s a kid before the Briarwoods, to surviving the Briarwoods, the escape, to making the List, joining up with VM etc. etc. and so on.

Additional random thoughts below the cut:

This podfic was so fun to make! As soon as I read the movie trailer part, ages ago when I had a tiny idea of doing a podfic or something of it, I KNEW I needed to add background music, and for this challenge it was an adventure trying to find the right music to capture the mood of SHENANIGANS. The one I found even had gaps/pauses and rising/falling bits at around the right places in the story, so I didn’t have to lengthen/edit the music that much to make it fit the recording, which was awesome. AO3 links both a ‘with background music’ and ‘no background music against spoken audio’ version.

Making the cover was an adventure of ‘how do I make the text fit on the image’, and there’s a version of it where I made the balcony photo the entirety of the cover and then tried to cram all the text onto the greenery and the wall. ...yeah, not a very visually restful cover. :P

Name: Leopold (Leo) Mercy Age & Date of birth: 25, Born December 2nd, 1991 Species: Human Gender: Cis man Orientation: Unknown, either straight or flexible Fandom/Original: Original

Content Warnings: Death, Child abduction

Biography: Leo is one of the two caretakers at September House. Like everyone else in this script (woofta I’ve almost submitted the whole cast of characters, yipes *tugs collar awkwardly*), Leo has a very mysterious past. What is clear is that he has known Max for a very long time. Autumn and the Talbots don’t know if the two of them are related or married, or if their last name is an alias, and the audience never finds out the truth. What is clear is that they are completely devoted to one another and have trouble even speaking to others. Throughout the story, Leo and Max make references to a little girl named “Charlie,” who disappeared some 8 years ago and is presumed dead. While Max refers to the girl as her sister, Leo claims she was his daughter. It is unlikely both are true, as Max and Leo are the same age, which leads the other characters to believe that both the Mercys are pathological liars. Leo is the only man living on the September House estate and seems intent on not making waves amongst the women he works for/with. When the new cook, Autumn, arrives, she gets along with Leo perhaps better than any of the others, and learns a lot about the house and other women from him.

Appearance: Right now, Leo’s faceclaim is Ezra Miller. He dresses for warmth and durability and has a small, indistinct tattoo on his left shoulder.

Personality: Leo is quiet and noticeably uncomfortable with social interaction. Much of the time, he relays on Max to ask questions or relay information for the both of them. However, while Max is very guarded, Leo is expressive to those who are paying attention to him, which is why he and Autumn get along so well. He is generally methodical and calm, though can be goaded into anger when threatened or taunted. He has a subdued sense of humor that can be somewhat dark.

Favourite & Least Favourite things: Leo and Max both do not eat red meat, though Leo also gets nauseous and sometimes even throws up at the sight of blood. He dislikes conflict and tries to avoid any interaction with Anabelle, who seems the main source of conflict at September House. Favorite book: Cloud Atlas, Favorite song: Sometime Around Midnight by The Airborne Toxic Event, Movie: Who Framed Roger Rabbit?

Strengths and Weaknesses: Leo is quiet and withdrawn, but very affectionate with people he cares about. He is capable in a crisis, but often freezes once the danger has passed. He has a temper, but more often than not, his withdrawn nature and desire to avoid conflict is the part that gets him into trouble.

Additional notes: September House is a feature length script I wrote last winter and am still editing a fresh draft of. It is an American Gothic taking place in contemporary Minnesota during the harsh midwestern winter. For more on this story, check out the Winter Gothic tag on my blog! Leo is a secondary character but he and Max share the Mercys tag. Brief disclaimer: This story is very dark so content in these tags is at times disturbing or nsfw. Apartment neighbors AU AND High Fantasy AU (or Scifi AU for High Fantasy canons)

I ridiculously love WELP NOW THEY’RE NEIGHBOURS, particularly for ships that clash or have a loose cannon + uptight vibe. I want all the UGH THEY HAVE A PET and melting eyes over houseplant gifts and everythingggg. 

I don’t think I’ve ever written it, though. If I did, it’d be ... well, right now, it’d probably be Jyn/Cassian, though it’s also an A+ scenario for Darcy/Elizabeth. But with the former, there’d be the potential wrinkle of spy shenanigans. I mean, you wouldn’t have to do it with that, but it’d be amazing, lol. The irritable fellow neighbours turn out to be, respectively, a criminal and a spy? YES.

Sadly, I am very unlikely to write it myself. I’d read the hell out of it, though. 

High fantasy/Sci-Fi AU is ... hm. I don’t tend to go for generic AUs, but I do really like setting fusions. Westworld version of Star Wars? YES. P&P in Star Wars? YES GOOD. The Borgias with firebending? 100% here for it. 

The likelihood of actually writing really depends. My current favourite idea is, also, Jyn/Cassian: Rogue One but in the Silmarillion! I don’t see myself writing a proper linear longfic, but I definitely have bits and pieces I’m having fun with.

Prompt: dragon au! Pietro lives - all avengers together at the compound. Wanda starts experimenting with her powers and sort of... accidentally turns pietro into a little silver dragon. Much comedy ensues.

Clint walked into the lab. There was Wanda, which was expected. There was no sign of Pietro which was also expected; Pietro’s speed had grown so much since Sokovia that him being practically invisible was the norm these days, rather than the exception.

He did not expect the murderous looking lizard sitting on the table. It was mostly looking murderous at Wanda, however which let him realise-

“Wanda, are those wings?”

Blooming Love for @grannyweatherwaxofficial [Will/Alana]

Alana is one of the few who took the time and patience and care to be Will's friend in truth rather than just in name, or becoming so by way of being a colleague. Alana took the time to learn who he was as a person, when he wasn't being called to listen in to a murder case and mimic the murderer's mindset.

Alana, simply, was a friend, when so many others would have got their foot in the door and simply started taking notes.
