small report on ‘XY’ campaign results
XY is a video that I produced using different iPhone4 video encoding techniques and use supporting media on social activism with a straightforward message to destroy your smartphone.
This is my biggest promotional success so far. An item of DIY culture brought to a competition on Amazon Studious, Eye Want Change 2016 and uploading via Vimeo did not get any awards, but made an important milestone in my producer’s career. On Eye Want Change 2016 website it received 15 votes. On LinkedIn my update was viewed 48 times. The work received 113 views and 4 likes on Vimeo as a result of this and became an OK video on Amazon.
Some people commented that my explanation of the video (Vimeo page + Eye Want Change + Amazon, all required text supporting the moving images) was confusing. I took notice and signed up for Creative Writing Workshop.
I learned that the most effective promotion is direct promotion through real life conversations. Personal messages on Facebook did not work that well. Email promotions will be the next step, but before I want to develop my website and continue making the diary on my GoPro.
"This video essay is created by encoding video blocks and characterised as experimental and self-reflective. His works are rooted in a young man’s urban background and experiences. The adventures in context of Generation Y in context of World Politics." Denis Skachidub, 25 Back to Submissions
My video is taking part in a competition
A milestone in my projects - reaching Amazon Studios with an OK video and good idea behind the production. There are lots of questions that remain unanswered, the Unknown radiates.
