“My new thesaurus is terrible…,” Harry squints, tracing their finger across the page, “but it’s also terrible.”
@narrativeancmaly asked: "you said your phone was broken"
It's not a lie, but Sky feels a sliver of guilt for not bringing it up before. "I got a new one." It's a burner phone because he can't give up his drug dealer look, and he doesn't care about smartphones. He won't go dropping this one of a mountain any time soon. "Here," He opens up the contacts folder and holds out the phone. "You can add yourself all over again if you want."
"So I do think you deserve to be shot with a gun. And I can help with that." Said as innocuously as if they've just mentioned something mildly interesting about the weather. // Unprompted, Sass is just like this
Herbert offers them an extremely unimpressed look. "Well, would you wait until my shift is over at the very least? We're understaffed, and a bullet would be preferable to dealing with Miller."
"mox, catch." And then Sass just throws a fucking baseball at him.
He reacts like the athlete he is, catching the ball. It stings, yeah, but it's not like Sass is a MLB pitcher, so he doesn't show a sign of pain.
"Is this your way of fucking asking me to play catch?" He tosses it up once. Twice. Then lobs it back, underhand, unsure of the intentions and not wanting to break Sass' face open with an overzealous return throw.

"being lactose intolerant is a character flaw, i guess, but you can beat it. well, maybe you can't, but i can." They finish this statement by taking a loud sip of their milkshake. // unprompted
Harry shudders, feeling their gut doing flips.
"I'm not even lactose intolerant and you've got my stomach hurting now. How does it feel having such an iron gut? I'd say I'm jealous, but... I dunno, I'd be worrying about rust or something."
"yeah, so," Sass tells Kumari, "dying is pretty cool. i mean, it's fun in a way, right. like it's a vibe of some kind. like when people are like 'i can die' i'm like yeah, so can i, but i can also come back. sick, right?"
Two years ago, Kumari would have sent Sass on their way, or smiled politely before finding an exit. Who or what they are — sounds like absolute fallacy, like they mean to poke fun at someone who may be gullible enough to believe it. But she’s seen things in the past two years that have completely reshaped the way she thinks. Those people in the hospital, Billy, what she has learned about herself and billions of years past linking them to something so much greater….
And yet, Kumari can’t help glancing at them like they’ve grown an extra head. What they say sounds so… eerie. Wrong. Dying is cool? No, no… least, the people she’s seen die did not find it ‘cool’ at all. They speak of death and resurrection, something even she can’t pull off with an inter dimensional parasite living and coiled within her body and soul. “Um — sorry… you do mean in a game, right? Like, dying in one of your games and you respawn…?” She isn’t so certain now…
"who the fuck is dean anyway. what's the lore drop on that." //Mox, unprompted
"Again, I had no fucking idea before all of this shit. Some punk-ass wrestler, I guess. PG shit, for kids. Google said he's retired. No clue what happened to him. I guess there's a passing resemblance to me, but that's a fucking stretch."
Is he lying? No, seems unlikely...just a very unfortunate coincidence.
He's lying. Somewhat. He's used the name multiple times, though that was not him on TV.
unprompted
"your take on chili is so comically incorrect you should genuinely be locked up and studied under a microscope." Sass for Mox
"First of all, if it's not on spaghetti, it's shit. If there's not cinnamon in there, what the fuck are you doing?" Mox takes the time to get a big helping scooped up on his fork, eyeing Sass dead-on in the process. "The ENTIRE bag of cheese and crumble up those fucking oyster crackers on it, too. "Then you have to tell me if it's Skyline or from somewhere else. That shit matters. If you can't tell the difference, that's fine, but I lose my residency if I can't, and it MATTERS!"
unprompted
