Ghost!Mr. Small wanted to look like his mum prior to his death, but after his death and his mum acting like a complete bitch to his stepdad and her excusing it as her being "grumpy" about Ghost!'s death, he realised that one of the reasons why he hated himself so much was because he looked so much like her. And there was nothing he could do about it, at least that's what it seems.
Rocky in the Collector!Mr. Small Universe is a very close friend to Mr. Corneille from that universe and he even tries to help him understand that he has to let go from Syl (Steve hadn't transitioned in his young years and the two didn't know that he started feeling like he was a guy) while comforting him from the trauma Mr. Corneille experienced when he was young, which will eventually be Rocky's downfall considering he'll meet Narrator! soon and he will have a similar fate as SF!Mr. Small's dad.
