hmmmm.

anyone with very pale skin have any recommendation for deciding between nars illuminator or nars multiple, both in “copocabana”?

from reading specific reviews, it seems people have an easier time blending/layering the illuminator (liquid) vs the multiple (cream stick). but the multiple has twice as many reviews, averaging very high, on sephora.com. so obviously it’s a good product. thoughts?

Review: NARS The Multiple in Maldives

NARS ‘The Multiple’ are multi-purpose makeup sticks designed for use on eyes, cheeks, lips and body that give a sheer colour that according to NARS can be blended into your skin for “shimmering accents, contours or dynamic highlights.”

The colour; Maldives is a shimmery pink champagne; though on me it applies as a soft, (almost a dull) rose with a luminous finish. The suggested application method for The Multiple is to use your fingers as the heat will warm up the product and enable it to be more easily blended. Personally, I like to apply it straight from the stick on to the skin, and then use my fingers to blend. I’ll then use my fingers back on to the stick to wipe away any residue from the surface and get a little bit more product to use as a last-touch highlight. I have fair skin, so for me Maldives is perfect for using on my cheeks as a blush/ blush highlight. I use it on the apples of my cheeks and then blend it back towards my cheek bones (all with my finger.) It’s too pink for me to use anywhere else. The finish is incredibly shimmery- if you’re only using a little bit its okay for day-time use, and will give you a dewy, glowing sheen. If you want to use this for night time this product layers nicely for a full-on luminous effect. Though it sets like a powder, I find that this doesn’t really mix very well on top of already applied foundation powder (giving your skin that dreaded ‘muddy’ effect.) This makes application a little bit trickier, as I have to avoid powdering the areas where I want to use this. I’ll definitely continue to use this as a cheek product, though to get multiple uses from my Multiple stick *see what I did there ; )* I think I’d have been better off purchasing a more neutral (less pink) colour, like Lamu; which is listed as a “glazed apricot with golden sparkle.”
