studio pierrot actually changed a lot of sakura's character to make her seem a lot more callous to naruto than she actually is in the manga :( the most notable example is probably during the chuunin exams where (in the manga) sakura is genuinely concerned about how naruto did in the written exams whereas in the anime, pierrot made her mock naruto for some reason?? it's weird

THATS WHAT IM SAYING! it’s like they saw the negative reaction she was initially receiving and decided to run with it bc hating sakura was so popular back then???? never me tho y’all stay safe!

i’m so mad bc naruto and sakura’s relationship (romantic or otherwise) would’ve been a monumental backbone for the series. sasuke comes and goes, but one thing ab sakura? she always stayed. she messed up sometimes, absolutely. but she never abandoned naruto or the village. or sasuke, too, actually! she never received any of the credit (or development) she deserves.

it hurts in my heart bc she could’ve been a positive cultural staple for little girls watching anime everywhere but instead pierrot dog walked her character through mud in a lightning storm. and even without pierrot making her unnecessarily cruel, i’m 100% sure that kishimoto actually forgot ab her at some points in the story 😭😭😭😭
