I'm confused why couldn't Sam go to Oxford instead? If they weren't meant to be give them a better reason not to be together for closure not just the idea that Oxford doesn't let to lesbians.
okay I have two theories that could also play into each other:
1st Cory keeps thinking about his night with naveed which makes him curious about his sexuality so he tries to sleep with another guy cue nas and naveed looking shocked ate him. this leads to naveed being upset bc cory has no problems being with guys that aren’t him so he decides to stay away from cory cue the cafeteria scene
2nd naveed starts seeing someone, cory gets jealous and somehow tries to break them apart, naveed notices or cory talks to him and reconsiders being with that person, naveed sees cory with someone else in that scene with nas, drifts apart from cory, cafetaria scene
Ackley Bridge Season 3
A couple thoughts after watching episode 1:
- Please don’t let Martin and Mandy become a thing. We’ve had enough of complicated relationships within the teaching department, and Martin is married with children. I would, however, like to see them as good friends, because they seem to have that chemistry already. It would be nice to see someone else on Mandy’s side. Rob James-Collier is a pretty good actor and I’d like his character to be consistent and one that the audience roots for (looking at you, Julian Fellowes, barely giving Barrow’s last arc a glance).
- Killing off Missy and/or Nas would be cheap and I don’t think they’re going to do it. It wouldn’t be a satisfying ending for either character. Killing off main characters is rarely done well. Doesn’t mean they can’t do it well, but the probability is low.
- What are they going for with the Murgatroyd family? I thought their arc was done in Season 2, and I’m not entirely sure what else they have to offer. I’ve seen the synopsis for next episode and I don’t believe that rehashing the racial tensions storyline is the best thing to do. And it doesn’t seem like it’s going to further Sam’s character either.
- I’m glad they didn’t make Nas and Missy fall out for too long. It’s pretty painful to see them fight.
- Kaneez is still an iconic, supportive, wise mother. I love her so much
- It’s good that everyone is still... the same. Cory, Riz and Naveed are still goofs (even though they appeared together in like 3 scenes), everyone still clowns on the teachers, and Mandy is still fighting the good fight.
- Speaking of Mandy, she’s still as rock solid as ever. While she crumbled a bit during the “meeting”, she still showed that she’s the boss of Ackley Bridge and that her staff (read: Sue Carp) shouldn’t give up so easily.
TL;DR: Channel 4 are messing with my emotions far too much.
Alright so Ackley Bridge is back to consume my soul for 8 weeks And honestly how could they just go and get the main characters hit by a car in the first episode????? I am the epitome of shook wtf
did that shit actually happen
