We've been going through our sketchbooks recently and it's sparked an interesting thought for me... It really is strange to see where I have ended up in comparison to what the original character was supposed to be. In comparison to where I started.
To be fair, I don't think I ever could have lived up to the character's villainous premise, so there was always going to be a schism from the start. But I've transitioned from being an actively, intentionally harmful part of the system, someone to stir up all the hurt and nasty feelings we could feel; to a protective part of sorts.
I'd say I now function more as a "prosecutor" as the term I've seen that most fits, but while others in a similar role as far as we can tell only tend to spark more anger on both sides, adding fuel to the flame, I daresay I command a certain grounding effect instead. It's quite a far cry from my old role.
It makes us wonder where I fall on our timeline to a point - our system has tended to split from the same oc multiple times, sometimes with each iteration existing simultaneously. It then makes them wonder about me. However, I've been around long enough to have served my prior role. It's more just I've been around long enough to grow as an individual I think - how else would I know exactly what would inflame as opposed to what wouldn't, after all?
It's an interesting train of thought - I will say I've grown to like where I am now. We all have. So I can't say I feel nostalgic for where I had been. But... I can say it is nice seeing where I have ended up compared to where I started, at the very least. Not sure if that's a thought of interest here, but that is what this journal/scrapbook is for, after all. - Nashi
