NEUE SACHLICHKEIT! Da mich in letzter Zeit die digitale Bilderflut geradezu erschlagen hat, ich diese teilweise bis zur Unkenntlichkeit retuschierten Bilder einfach nur noch genervt haben, war ich auf der Suche nach etwas, was Bilder einzigartig und unverwechselbar macht. Nichts, was sich im nach hinein noch bearbeiten lässt und einfach unverwechselbar ist. Einfach ein Foto wie es aus der Kamera kommt und jedes ein Unikat, was sich so niemals mehr wiederholen lässt. Ich entdeckte daher für mich ein fotografisches Verfahren welches 1851 zum ersten mal angewendet wurde: Das Nassplatten Kollodiumverfahren, also mehr als 160 Jahre alt. Nach mehreren Monaten zusammentragen der Ausrüstung, intensivem Testen am Rand der Verzweiflung, sind mir jetzt die ersten Bilder gelungen. Es ist ein sehr aufwendiges Verfahren, aber die Ergebnisse sprechen einfach für sich und jedes Bild belohnt mich jedes mal neu. In diesem Sinn, wünsche ich allen einen guten Start ins neue Jahr.
NEW OBJECTIVITY! Since I was almost killed from the digital flood of images, I was looking for something that takes pictures unique and unmistakable. Nothing can be in the edit as into yet and is simply unmistakable. Just a photo as it comes from the camera and each one unique, so what never can be repeated anymore. I discovered therefore a photographic process which was applied in 1851 for the first time: the wet-plate collodion process, which is more than 160 years old. After several months to gather the equipment, intensive testing on the edge of despair, now the first pictures have been successful. It is a very costly process, but the results simply speak for themselves and each image rewarded me again each time. In this sense, I wish you all a happy new year.
