Treasures of Barcelona #4

I went to visit my friend Sören Manzoni, one of the owners of NASTY MONDAYS and NASTY GARAGE. The Garage is the office/headquarters and day-face of this iconic monster that started as a rock´n´roll party almost 10 years ago, nowadays it´s beyond that. Today, a party that brings two thousand people every monday to the Sala Apolo.

Thousands of people follow them not only for their music but also for their style, these guys bring trends to Barcelona, and you can smell the 80´s, the waves and surfboards, the asphalt and skateboards and their passion for music in every set they make.

Now in their day space, NASTY GARAGE, they have their office, the engine that never seems to stop, but also a space open to exhibitions, talks, art and more. Sören has his personal collection here to show, mythic pinball machines, vespa motorcycles, surfboards and skateboards among other things like ghettoblasters, robots, Mickey mouse toys…

I caught him getting his skateboard exhibition ready. The history of Skateboarding since the 60s, as he described it to me "from the ocean to the asphalt" as skateboard comes from the ocean, surfboards turn into skateboards to ride the streets.
